Are you fascinating?

If you arent then you should be.

See what I did there? Thats a new verb Im using fascinating: the act of wearing a fascinator.

Fascinators have been around for such a long time yet it seems only recently (okay since The Royal Wedding )  these millinery confections have enjoyed a resurgence.

Unlike hats, which by nature squash a carefully coiffed do and generally should not be worn indoors, fascinators can be worn indoors or out and perch lightly and elegantly, turning a simple chignon into a masterpiece.

If you want to spend way too much time and money just go to etsy.com and search fascinator but say goodbye to your to-do list.

I tend to gravitate toward the unusual but not the ostentatious. Okay this one is a little ostentatious but I love it.

Now when it comes to the fascinator, beware, bigger (and taller) is not always better. If you keep your fascinator subtle and close you could wear one to a holiday party. If, however, your fascinator makes you wary of ceiling fans and migrating birds, you may want to try a beret next time.
